چکیده
The present study was designed to comparatively evaluate the effect of G.T.R. with or without tetracycline root conditioning in the treatment of intrabony defects using a resorbable membrane. To achieve these aims, the following objectives were followed: Evaluation of pre surgical probing depths (PD) and it’s comparison post operatively. Comparison of the clinical attachment levels (CAL) pre surgically and post surgically. Assessment of the change in the overall area of the intrabony defect after the periodontal surgical treatment. The test group (n = 10) received resorbable barrier membrane with tetracycline root conditioning, while the control group (n=10) received the same membrane without tetracycline root conditioning for treating the intrabony defects. Both the treatment modalities resulted in a significant reduction in pocket depth and significant gain in both clinical attachment levels and bone levels post operatively after six months. Intergroup comparison of the parameters, revealed no statistically significant differences. Combining GTR. technique with the tetracycline root conditioning does not seem to improve the results following surgical treatment of intrabony defects.

متن کاملComparison of Hemiseptal Intrabony Defects Treatment with a Bioabsorbable Membrane and Flap Debridement Alone
Introduction: Most periodontal treatments aim to reduce probing depths and maintaining or improving attachment. One of these techniques for treatment of intrabony defects is guided tissue regeneration (GTR). The aim of this study was to compare one-wall intrabony defects treatment with GTR and flap debridement alone. Methods: Eight patients aged 32-43 years participated in this randomized contr...

Background and Aim: Increasing patient demands for esthetic, put the root coverage procedures in particular attention. Periodontal regeneration with GTR based root coverage methods is the most common treatment used. The purpose of this study was to compare guided tissue regeneration (GTR) with collagen membrane and a bone graft, with sub-epithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG), in treatment o...

Introduction: The aim of periodontal treatment is to regenerate periodontium. Regenerative treatments include the use of plasma that is rich in growth factors (PRGF). Materials & Methods: In a randomized clinical trial, 20 three-walled intrabony defects from five patients with moderate periodontitis were randomly assigned to three groups. Patients in the control group underwent debridement of ...

Background and Aim: Intrabony periodontal defects are important problems in periodontology and up to now several ways have been suggested for their treatment .Treatment with enamel matrix derivatives (EMD) has been shown to enhance periodontal regeneration. There is limited information available from clinical trials regarding the performance of EMD in the treatment of periodontal intrabony defe...
